Mercury (Artistic Director) Originally from Hawaii, Mercury spent 18 years in Manhattan plying
his craft before coming to Georgia. Mercury has been an actor, director and technician in
theatre and film for 25+ years and has performed or worked in over 700 theatres across the
United States and in Europe. Locally he has performed or worked at Atlanta Symphony Hall,
The Ferst Center for the Arts, Southwest Arts Center, Fabrefaction, The Strand, Variety
Playhouse, The Lyric, Horizon Theater, Seven Stages, Theatre Decatur, Theatre Gael, Jewish
Theatre of the South, GSU Alumni Hall Theatre, Synchronicity, Kudzu Playhouse and Next
Stage Theatre. Mercury is also the recipient of multiple Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre awards
and nominations and BroadwayWorld Atlanta awards and nominations (including Set Design,
Sound Design, Leading Actor, Best Director, Best Show) and has also won XEROX
Corporation's nationwide design contest 3 years running. Mercury continues to work across
the country bringing theatre to life.
Danielle Gustaveson (Managing Director) Danielle brings to Gypsy 16 years as a company
manager and 20+ years of an artistic background in painting and Interior Design. Danielle has
been involved in over 30 shows at the Cumming Playhouse, has won 3 MAT awards in
conjunction with my husband for Set & Scenic design, and a MAT award for Best Actress in a
Leading Role. In addition to being an actor I have played every role from scenic design,
costumes, props, stage management, child wrangler, puppeteer, and Director.
As an artist, Danielle's children’s murals can be seen at Cumming Family Medicine, The Drake
House in Roswell and many nurseries and playrooms. Raised in Europe, Danielle has made
Cumming her home since 1996 (via Chicago) where she brings her unique vision and skills to
the fore. Having lived in Cumming for so many years she is excited to be giving something
back to the community in the form of art with Gypsy Theatre Company.
